Well first off you better expect to have fun! My style can be described as Fun, Stylish, Bold, Unique, Edgy, Modern and Dreamy. I like to challenge myself and try to make everyone’s session just a little different. I want it to be uniquely you! In fact I welcome you to bring anything along to your session that will help depict your style. If you are into sports, hunting, music, shoes, animals…whatever…bring it and we will incorporate it into your photo session.
I can’t stand quite so I always have music going. If you don’t like country then I would suggest bringing your own I-pod.
I typically like to book my seniors late in the day. The lighting is so much nicer and the sun is lower in the sky which makes it much easier to control. I am in love with that golden light that you see in so many of my portraits. The perfect time for this is an hour before sunset. We usually start indoors and then head outside.
Please feel free to bring mom, dad or your BFF along to your session. I can always use a second set of hands when it comes to blocking unwanted sun. I also offer a free family or friend session. If you decide to take advantage of this the same day as your session, then I suggest doing this first. That way the other family members can leave while we continue on with your senior session.
Bring a large selection of outfits. I can help you choose what ones will photograph best. Make sure they are on hangers and wrinkle free. Don’t forget the accessories and shoes! I always suggest bringing a couple solid long sleeve tops. Other then that bring whatever clothing you like. I love the trendy layered look.
Girls -hats and scarves are always a fun accessory. Don’t forget the nails, they will show in pictures. I also strongly suggest having your makeup and hair professionally done before your session. You won’t regret it! I know everyone wants to wait until they get some color in their skin. A little natural color looks good but please don’t over do it. Lighter skin tends to photograph nicer then too dark of skin. Please, please stay away from spray tan. It does not photograph well at all, well unless you like that oompa loompa look.
Guys –you can’t go wrong with a button up shirt over a t-shirt along with a great pair of jeans. Make sure to get your hair cut a week or two before your appointment. Don’t forget to shave because I will not be touching up stubble!
